As the Depot Manager, you will provide first-class leadership to deliver a high-tempo, resilient inventory capability across the entire Thames Water region. Drawing on your extensive experience in scheduling, transport, delivery operations, and warehouse stock control, you will ensure stock integrity, availability, and accuracy to fully support operational delivery.
You will be accountable for ensuring operational teams receive the right fittings, equipment, and materials at the right time, enabling work to be completed safely, efficiently, and first time. This includes providing robust and reliable delivery commitments to the business by coordinating the timely supply of barriers and SLG ancillaries, aligned to work programmes, while also enabling effective plant deployment and asset recovery.
What you'll be doing as a Depot Manager:
- Providing leadership and direction to the Inventory Operations teams and the Driving team.
- Ensuring that equipment and critical stores are received, delivered and collected on time, and that quality objectives and delivery deadlines are met.
- Providing real-time visibility of equipment and critical stores holdings through SAP accounting and active stocktaking.
- Being fully compliant with all transport legislation, including the Drivers Regulations & Working Time Directive, in line with the O license legalisation and company procedures.
- Managing the budget and maintaining statistical and financial records across all workstreams.
- Resource and transport planning through task scheduling and delivery programme.
- Working with the Logistics Operating team to maintain the Out of Hours call rota to ensure that assets and inventory are available 24/7 365 days.
- Effectively manage the Performance Indicators against all workstreams from the site output, including driving times, stock integrity and Inventory Performance outputs.
- Ensuring Health & Safety requirements are met within the Company and legal frameworks.
What you should bring to the role:
- Experience in logistics or management at another water utility or large company.
- Work collaboratively, being able to work closely across the business and with suppliers and 3rd parties.
- Excellent leadership qualities with outstanding managerial experience.
- You will be technically experienced with a good understanding of Inventory, Supply Chain and Scheduling processes.
- Be meticulous in documenting the finer details.
- Be process-driven with the ability to write processes to deliver the service reliably.
- Competent with IT systems.
- Full UK Driving Licence.
