What you will be doing as a Construction Assurance Engineer:

  • Supporting essential design and delivery reviews, identifying risks and issues, and working with stakeholders to resolve them.
  • Conducting health and safety audits to ensure relevant issues are addressed.
  • Focusing on the construction phase of wastewater projects, assessing and reporting on project progress, addressing issues, and taking the lead on the escalation process if necessary.
  • Ensuring that all non-conformances are identified and corrected.
  • Managing, identifying, and resolving snags and liaising with Operators and contractors after the takeover to handle defects, the aftercare process, and performance testing.
  • Monitoring, agreeing on, and approving takeover tests with the project team.
  • Ensuring that the required project documentation meets our specifications and that the information for taking over is approved.
  • Working as an active member of one or more project teams with one or more of our contractors.

We are recruiting for two roles, both based at Hybrid Maple Lodge or Hampton Coal Wharf. As part of this role, you must be on site 3-4 days a week, 36 hours a week, Monday to Friday. The successful candidate must drive and have a car; the role includes a car allowance of 4,500 per annum.

What you should bring to the role:

  • Have an HNC or above in an appropriate engineering subject or background in a similar role.
  • Knowledge of health and safety on construction sites, or an SMSTS qualification, can be offered as part of the role if the holder does not currently hold it.
  • Understand design, construction, and operations across industries, including the wastewater sector.
  • Have a background in project delivery and integration within the construction sector.
  • Be confident in communicating with stakeholders at various levels.
