The Thames Water Inventory and Supply team is the custodian of network and critical materials, field engineering parts & tools and mobile plant. Operating 24/7 to provide real-time distribution and equipment service to support the Thames Water businesses.

Responsibilities

  • Engage with the Planning team and Enablers to ascertain workload and requirements to prioritise jobs both on a planned and reactive basis.
  • Plan and allocate collection and delivery tasks to Support Drivers with the appropriate skill set and operating geography through Salesforce.
  • Plan jobs for works preparation using Salesforce to ensure all materials and equipment are delivered to the correct address and set up ahead of the start of works.
  • Ensure all job details comply with traffic management and streetworks legislation to avoid fixed penalty notices/permit fines.
  • Maintain a healthy and safe work environment and endorse the Thames Water Health & Safety commitment for Support Drivers.
  • Manage, allocate and prioritise the Support Drivers’ work stack to meet priority jobs (2 hour/4 hour) that need completion.
  • Monitor the progress of jobs by regular updates from the planning team, dig teams, and supervisors to identify any additional materials, plant, or equipment required.
  • Provide daily reports of resource utilisation and planned/reactive jobs completed to maintain Inventory Field Operations service commitments.
  • Monitor collections to ensure no overruns and engage daily with the planning team to ensure that permit end dates do not expire – any potential fines should be immediately escalated to supervisors.
  • Track Salesforce for work with a forecasted completion date to plan site inspections and site clearance for support drivers.
  • Provide a weekly report on expected weekend work to ensure resources and materials are made available.

Qualifications

  • Organised with a good understanding of work management processes and systems.
  • Excellent attention to detail and scheduling/planning skills.
  • Competent working with business-critical systems such as Salesforce, SAP, Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and Word.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Salary starting from £31,600 per annum, depending on your level of experience.
  • 24 days holiday per year, increasing to 28 with length of service (plus bank holidays).

Work hours and location

  • Base location: Kidlington, OX5 1QT.
  • 45 hours per week, Monday‑Friday, 7:30 am – 5 pm.
