What you'll be doing as an Electrical Engineer Apprentice:

  • Helping to find faults and find ways to fix all our electrical issues we have on our sites.
  • Working on electrical equipment which monitors and controls all aspects of Thames Water’s water and wastewater processes, and how they’re performing across the network.
  • During the apprenticeship you’ll become qualified to carry out planned preventative and general maintenance of equipment.
  • Modifying and rewiring.
  • Testing, and inspecting, condition-based monitoring and fault-finding within our systems.

Location & Details

  • Location: Mogden TW7 7LW
  • Hours: 38-hour week over four working days plus one training day, with a 7:30am start
  • Start date: September 2026

Training and qualification:

  • You’ll study with Basingstoke College of Technology, one of the UK’s leading engineering training providers. Training is delivered through on-campus sessions or block release, with some elements online.
  • Travel and accommodation costs are supported in line with our business expense policy.
  • Qualification achieved: Engineering maintenance technician – Level 3 City & Guilds Diploma in Engineering (single discipline).
  • Duration: Permanent contract with a 36-month structured programme.

  • GCSE English and Maths (grade 9-4 / A-C)
  • Good communication and time management skills
  • Able to work well in a team and independently
