We are recruiting for an ICA Technician (Instrument, Control and Automation) to be based at Maple Lodge – STW in Rickmansworth. Your role will be to inspect and maintain key equipment at our sewage pumping stations. As a key member of the team you will diagnose faults, repair and modify installations, and use your knowledge to work on PLCs, automated machinery, SCADA and telemetry systems in a safe, efficient and timely manner with minimal supervision.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out planned maintenance (PPM) including mandatory tickets and reactive maintenance on defective equipment.
- Work in a multi‑disciplinary team with systems, mechanical and electrical technicians.
- Install, modify and commission new plant equipment to relevant standards, diagnosing and repairing faults in systems and plants.
- Investigate plant failures and implement subsequent repairs as quickly and efficiently as possible.
- Provide specialist technical advice with up‑to‑date technical knowledge.
Qualifications
- Strong practical understanding of operational plant and control systems; knowledge of Wonderware (desirable) and ClearSCADA, relay logic and PLCs (Rockwell previous experience with inverter drives).
- Experience in calibration and maintenance of front‑line instrumentation such as flow meters, pressure levels, ultrasonics and telemetry.
- Qualified to HNC level or NVQ level 3 in an electrical subject (or equivalent).
- Validity of a driving licence essential; role will cover several sites in the assigned region.

Benefits
- Competitive salary up to £45,000 per annum, depending on skills and experience.
- Standby rota payments and overtime opportunities can increase earning potential by up to an additional £8,000–£10,000 per annum upon completion of essential company training.
- 24 days holiday per year, increasing to 28 days with length of service, plus bank holidays.

Working Pattern
- 38 hours per week – Monday to Friday, 7:30 am to 3:36 pm, plus standby and overtime opportunities.
