We’re looking for 2 motivated and proactive Technical Coordinators to join our Thames Valley North Wastewater Operations team. This is an exciting chance to play a key role across Banbury STW / Witney STW area, working predominantly in the field and closely with a supportive and experienced operations team. This is a temporary position up to 6 months.
As a Technical Coordinator, you’ll work side‑by‑side with local Performance Managers and a diverse team of technicians—including mechanical, electrical and ICA specialists. You’ll take ownership of delivering planned and reactive maintenance, coordinating both internal field teams and external contractors. Your focus will be on ensuring our wastewater treatment sites achieve strong plant availability, meet operational KPIs and deliver excellent service for our customers—all while keeping activities within budget.
What you will be doing as a Technical Coordinator? This role is very diverse and consists of a wide range of tasks, some of which are listed below:
- You will be responsible for the management of the pre-requisites within SAP (materials, permits, resources and services) for all complex jobs for planned and reactive work across maintenance and operations.
- Use technical expertise and data captured from the field to design operationally critical jobs.
- Highlight key operational risks across the area and present these to obtain funding.
- Maintain the availability of plant and equipment and optimise treatment process performance.
- Develop strong collaborative relationships with other internal and external stakeholders.
- Provide expert advice on technical issues and generate solutions to operational risks.
- Obtain quotes, order materials and 3rd party services through our framework contractors.
- Ensure all aspects of Health and Safety are managed correctly, through safe system of work approval, reviewing RAMS, permitting and site audits.
- You will be responsible for ensuring that our legal statutory maintenance requirements are met. These will include items such as lifting equipment, pressure vessels and generators.
To thrive in this role, the essential criteria you need are:
- Completed a time‑served apprenticeship or hold a recognised technical qualification in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
- Proven, relevant experience as a Mechanical.
