We have an exciting opportunity at Thames Water to join us as a Field Planning Specialist! This role will specifically look at effective field planning and enabling of the various stages to completion of incoming new customer cases, and develop plans and work very closely with our contractors to ensure that the right equipment, people and resources are in place to ensure excellent customer service in a timely manner.
What you’ll be doing as a Field Planning Specialist:
- Responsible for developing and planning the ‘customer journey’ from the time an issue has been identified through to resolution.
- Identifying job requirements such as permits, equipment, traffic management and time of day restrictions.
- Work with the contractors to ensure that these are all adequately in place to deliver operational performance and customer service targets.
- Develop and implement continuous improvements to optimise operational performance and customer service.
- Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders.
- Responsible for working in compliance with Company procedures, including BOP, Health & Safety, and Street works legislation.
- Take full ownership and resolve customer complaints relating to the relevant geographical area.
Base location: Beckton - IG110AD; however, you will have the ability to work and travel to various sites in the London catchment area.
Working Pattern: 36 hours per week (Mon – Fri), plus the inclusion onto an out-of-hours rota for which you will receive additional payment.

- Excellent communication, organisational and interpersonal skills.
- Fully competent in the use of the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel and PowerPoint).
- A great team player with the ability to influence others and work collaboratively.
- Full UK driving license required.
Additional skills and experiences would be great to have/bring:
- Significant relevant industry experience and understanding of the business are highly desirable.
- Previous experience or knowledge of Salesforce is highly desirable.
- Previous experience with planning and reporting software is desirable.
