Overview
We have an exciting requirement for an Education Officer to join Thames Water. This role will support the Education Manager to deliver an engagement and education programme to support the successful development of the new water projects. The programme will raise awareness of the pressures on our water resources and an understanding of the need to invest in water infrastructure to ensure a secure water supply for future generations and seek to engage with young people on the projects. What you’ll be doing as an Education Officer
- Deliver the engagement and education programme for the water projects.
- Support initiatives to bring the voice of young people into the design of the infrastructure projects.
- Create and design workshops and initiatives to deliver our objectives and support the projects.
- Deliver initiatives with schools, higher educational organisations and community groups.
- Monitor and report on the programme outcomes.
- Communicate and showcase the programmes.
Location and travel
This is a hybrid role with a base Location of Clearwater Court, Reading, RG1 8DB. Some travel to our project areas (currently Oxford and London) will be required.
Salary
Salary for this position is between £39,000 and £49,000 per annum.
Essential criteria
- Experience in an education role.
- Experience of working with schools and education professionals.
- Strong communication and presentation skills, specifically delivering information to young people in an engaging way.
- Administration and project management skills, able to multi-task and work flexibly.
- Monitoring and reporting progress and performance.
- Able to work in a fast paced and demanding environment to meet project timescales.
- Be able to travel independently to support project activities.
Extra qualities
- Educated to degree level or equivalent.
- Experience of the water industry and/or major project development.
