We’re looking for a Data Analyst who’s ready to dive into new tools, smarter technologies, and fresh ways of working as we tackle today’s challenges and prepare for tomorrow. From SQL to Power BI to Python, you’ll turn complex data into clear insight that drives real change across Water Networks Operations.
What you’ll be doing as a Data Analyst:
- Working with large data sets drawn from a wide variety of internal and external sources, including environmental data, survey feedback and operational data.
- Design and interrogation of databases; carrying out data transformations and liaising with the business to improve our ways of working.
- Maintaining data quality and ensuring data is secure and properly utilised in line with the GDPR.
- Bridge the gap between the business and data, using analytical thinking to solve business problems to generate value, presented through clear presentations and insight.
Location: Hybrid: Kemble Court – RG2 6AD
Working pattern: 36 Hours Monday – Friday (1 day a week in the office every Tuesday)
What you should bring to the role:
- A positive, curious mindset and a natural interest in solving problems with data.
- Experience working with large datasets, databases or reporting, or a strong understanding of how operational data works and the confidence to pick things up quickly.
- Experience with some form of query language like TSQL or ANSI SQL.
- Experience with some form of scripting language, like Python or R, is an advantage.
- Experience with a dashboarding software like Power BI or Tableau.
- Familiarity with tools like R, Business Objects, Microsoft Azure services or Microsoft Office is helpful too.
Competitive salary up to £45,000 per annum, depending on skills & experience.
Annual Leave: 26 days holiday per year, increasing to 30 with the length of service (plus bank holidays).
Performance-related pay plan directly linked to company performance measures and targets.
