Train as a Class One LGV Driver through a 12‑month apprenticeship starting September 2026 in Oxford. This programme delivers on‑the‑job training, a dedicated coach, and an e‑portfolio to support your progress.

Responsibilities

  • Shadow drivers to learn routes and sites.
  • Drive with inter‑site teams to move sludge between sewage treatment works.
  • Drive with cake teams to deliver material to farms.
  • Drive with combi teams to clear wet wells and prevent blockages.
  • Manage vehicle movements and collections, including welfare units, tankers, Hiabs, cars, and 4x4s.
  • Assist with general vehicle maintenance to keep the fleet clean, fueled, charged, and ready.

Apprenticeship Programme

  • Programme delivered by Thames Water and TRS Training.
  • Fully embedded induction programme.
  • On‑the‑job training with a dedicated apprenticeship delivery coach.
  • Access to online learning and an e‑portfolio.
