What you’ll be doing as a Reservoir Engineer
In this role, you will undertake inspections of reservoirs and associated assets, producing technical reports and recommendations, and directing remedial works while ensuring compliance with engineering-based regulatory requirements.
Key responsibilities
- Provide advice on matters regarding Reservoir Safety and undertake an appropriate condition assessment and inspection programme.
- The condition assessment programme output will be input into both short-term remedial works needs and long-term investment programmes.
- Provide an overview of the reservoir and associated asset condition for the business to inform the corporate governance processes.
- Support in the development of policies, standards, systems, and processes in asset condition assessment and provide the business with guidance and support relating to asset assessment.
- Support the review and development of larger engineering solutions by reviewing design submissions, drawings and producing check calculations.
- Manage and develop key stakeholder relationships to improve business performance.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
- Provision of training to others on reservoir design and inspection techniques.
Base location Hybrid – Ashford Common (WTW) – TW15 1RU
Working pattern or hours 36 hours, Monday-Friday
Requirements for the role
- Valid UK driving licence, as frequent travel across the Thames Water patch will be required.
What you should bring to the role
To thrive in this role, the essential criteria you’ll need are:
- Extensive technical experience in civil engineering, supported by a degree in Civil Engineering or a recognised HNC (or equivalent) in a field related to civil or reservoir engineering.
- Strong understanding of core concepts and principles within civil engineering, with a basic knowledge of related disciplines.
- Excellent time management skills and the ability to prioritise and manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Proven people management and leadership capabilities.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to convey complex information clearly and concisely.
