What you’ll be doing as an Electrical Engineer Apprentice:
- Helping to find faults and fix all electrical issues on our sites.
- Working on electrical equipment which monitors and controls all aspects of Thames Water’s water and wastewater processes.
- Carrying out planned preventative and general maintenance of equipment.
- Modifying and rewiring.
- Testing, inspecting, condition-based monitoring, and fault finding within our systems.
Where you’ll work:
- Location: Crossness, SE2 9AQ
- Hours: 38-hour week over four working days plus one training day, with a 7:30am start
- Start date: September 2026
Training and qualification:
- You’ll study with Basingstoke College of Technology, one of the UK’s leading engineering training providers.
- Training is delivered through on-campus sessions or block release, with some elements online.
- Travel and accommodation costs are supported in line with our business expense policy.
- Qualification achieved: Engineering maintenance technician - Level 3 City & Guilds Diploma in Engineering (single discipline).
- Duration: Permanent contract with a 36 month structured programme.

- GCSE English and Maths (grade 9-4 / A-C)
- Good communication and time management skills
- Able to work well in a team and independently
