We’re seeking a proactive and detail-orientedWaste Control Room Compliance Manager to lead compliance efforts within our Waste System Operations team. This role offers the opportunity to drive continuous improvement, oversee internal and external audits, and ensure our operational processes align with regulatory and ISO standards. What you’ll be doing as a Waste Control Room Compliance Manager
As a key member of the Waste System Operations Team, you’ll lead the charge in improving compliance, managing audits, and maintaining ISO standards. You’ll also support pollution triage, training, and lead a team of 3 Waste Compliance team members.
- Drive improved process and pollution compliance across the Waste System Operations Team
- Lead the facilitation of external and internal audits, ensuring that all recommended actions are effectively understood and completed in a timely manner
- Own and drive the required standards and audit process for ISO accreditation
- Act as lead member of the Waste System Operations Team
- Work with the Operational Contact Centre and other key colleagues to improve the effectiveness of our Pollution Triage
- Act as subject matter expert for Self-Reporting implementation and provide timely and effective analysis
- Review and work with L&D to improve training material and competency assessments across Waste System Operations
- This position is based at Kemble Court, RG2 6AD. This role is mostly based on site; however, some hybrid working is available
What you should bring to the role
We’re looking for someone who is not only technically capable but also a strong communicator and motivator. You’ll need to be analytical, organised, and confident in engaging with stakeholders at all levels.
- Degree or ONC/HNC (or equivalent) in a relevant technical field, with significant relevant work experience
- Experience in an operational business environment (ideally within the water/waste utilities industry)
- Strong initiative and ability to prioritise workload independently
- Comfortable working both independently and collaboratively
- Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data and draw actionable conclusions
- Skilled in root cause analysis and implementing corrective/preventative actions
- Motivational leadership style with a passion for knowledge sharing and team development
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and other relevant IT systems
- Understanding of change management methodologies
- Commitment to delivering exceptional customer service with a positive and flexible approach
