We are looking for motivated and proactive Technical Coordinators to join our Thames Valley North Wastewater Operations team. This temporary position is up to 6 months and is based primarily in the field across the Witney STW / Cirencester STW area.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage the pre-requisites within SAP (materials, permits, resources and services) for all complex jobs for planned and reactive work.
  • Use technical expertise and field data to design operationally critical jobs.
  • Highlight key operational risks and present them to secure funding.
  • Maintain plant and equipment availability and optimise treatment process performance.
  • Develop strong collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Provide expert advice on technical issues and generate solutions to operational risks.
  • Obtain quotes, order materials and third-party services through our framework contractors.
  • Ensure all aspects of Health and Safety are managed correctly—safe system of work approval, reviewing RAMS, permitting, and site audits.
  • Ensure legal statutory maintenance requirements are met (e.g., lifting equipment, pressure vessels, generators).

Qualifications:

  • Completed a time-served apprenticeship or hold a recognised technical qualification in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
  • Proven, relevant experience as a Mechanical & Electrical (M&E) Technician or ICA Technician with strong understanding of plant, equipment, and operational processes.
  • Preferably experience within Water or Wastewater Treatment or a comparable industrial environment.
  • Highly logical, able to decide on and build the dependencies between tasks.
  • Collaborative, able to work closely with Planners, Field Performance Managers, suppliers and 3rd parties.
  • Technically experienced with a good understanding of how to maintain assets.
  • Good local knowledge of how asset importance impacts a site and its relationship to other assets.
  • Meticulous at documenting details of required work.
  • Able to manage a large workload of numerous jobs in parallel.
  • Competent with IT systems, notably SAP, and effective communication skills.
  • Knowledge and awareness of health and safety issues relevant to the industry.
  • IOSH or equivalent qualification preferred.
  • A full UK driving licence is essential for this role, as the position involves traveling around multiple sites.

Additional Information:

  • Hourly Pay Rate: £22.00
  • Location: Witney STW / Cirencester STW (travel to other sites required).
  • Length of assignment: 26 weeks.
  • Hours: 36 hours per week.
  • Start date: ASAP.
  • Placement via Pertemps.
