Cricklewood – North West London - NW2 6XD, Woodford - E17 3PR

We are looking for you to join us as a Strategic Field Technician on a permanent basis. Base location: North London - Woodford - E17 3PR; however, you will cover the wider area and drive between several different sites, therefore, you will need a full clean UK driving licence.

Working pattern: 38 hours per week, 07:30 – 15:36, Monday-Friday, plus the option for overtime, in which you will receive additional payment.

What you’ll be doing as a Strategic Field Technician:

  • Take ownership of Network Upgrade projects, supporting team members within the group and providing cover for projects during leave.
  • Be contracted to support across the whole Thames Water operational strategic Asset area when business needs require.
  • Support network activities during asset failures whilst ensuring water quality compliance during work.
  • Minimise and prevent supply interruption, liaise with customers and work to resolve problems where necessary to ensure service is delivered efficiently.
  • Develop and enhance working relationships with other teams across the clean water business.
  • Support the Network Asset Maintenance within the whole TW estate during Network Events where required, and support to meet business targets.
  • Act as local network expert for isolation and rezoning, providing information for risk assessments & sharing information regarding network risks and other Health & Safety issues.
  • Investigate the clean water network to resolve poor asset performance, including high or low pressure, leakage, metering queries and interruption of supply.

What should you bring to the role?

  • Good knowledge of the processes of water networks is desirable however, not essential.
  • Understanding and ability to demonstrate best practice regarding the Water Network Standards is desirable.
  • Relevant water network knowledge/experience is highly desirable to ensure that Permit to work, mains isolation packs and guided method of works for respective network operations are understood and implemented as per the process; however, not essential.
  • Ability to work under your own initiative to deliver specified work streams within SLAs.
  • Ability to manage overtime usage on a controlled, reportable and fair basis.
  • Competent at using appropriate company IT Systems and office-based software, with a preference for experience in GIS, Z-One, Sample Manager, and MS Teams.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • High level of attention to detail.
  • A full UK driving licence is essential.
