Overview

SI (Supply Interruptions) Coordinator – Thames Water. Ref 42506. Division: Asset Operations & Capital Delivery. Location coverage across the Thames Valley & Home Counties (Bourne End, Datchet, Godalming, Highworth, Kidlington, Reading Fobney, Speen). Contract type: Permanent. Hours: 36 hours per week. Salary: up to £43,460 per annum depending on skills and experience. Job grade: A. Closing date: 02/10/2025.

Role

SI (Supply Interruptions) Coordinator – Thames Water (Permanent Role)

Location: You will cover the Thames Valley & Home Counties area.

Due to the nature of the role a full UK Driving licence is required, a company van is provided.

Working Hours: First 6 months on standard day shifts; after 6 months you will move to shift work (12-hour shifts: 9am–9pm and 9pm–9am; 14 days out of 42 on a rolling 6-week pattern).

As an SI Coordinator, you’ll be at the forefront of Thames Water’s response to Supply Interruption (SI) incidents. You’ll take ownership of restoring or maintaining customer water supply during emergency bursts or large-scale planned repairs, working closely with both field and control teams to ensure the best possible outcomes for customers. Your role is vital in reducing the duration and impact of supply interruptions.

Responsibilities

  • Support on-site response during burst mains and high-impact repairs to restore or maintain the customer water supply.
  • Operate valves, hydrants, and deploy mobile equipment (e.g. PRVs) to manage flow and pressure.
  • Work closely with field teams and the Network Management Centre (NMC) to coordinate real-time restoration efforts.
  • Plan and manage tankering and infusion operations to reduce supply disruption.
  • Make quick, informed decisions to minimise customer impact and improve incident response.
  • Capture accurate site data and support incident reviews to drive continuous improvement.
  • Carry out proactive maintenance and asset checks when not responding to incidents, improving network resilience.

  • Confident in leading and coordinating across multiple teams.
  • Good communication and basic customer service skills.
  • Comfortable using mobile IT devices for reporting and updates.
  • Flexible to work a rotating shift pattern, including nights and weekends.
  • Full UK driving licence.
