Are you ready to lead high-impact projects that shape the future of the UK’s water infrastructure? Thames Water is seeking Senior Project Managers to play a pivotal role in AMP8, delivering large-scale projects across our water and wastewater assets.
This is more than just a project—it’s an opportunity to spearhead transformation at one of the UK’s most essential utilities. Your leadership will ensure seamless project execution from initial design to construction and completion , making a real difference for communities and the environment.
What you’ll be doing as a Senior Project Manager Opportunities
- You’ll be a client-side Senior Project Manager responsible for the investment from initial design through construction and completion.
- Overall accountability for project programme, cost and quality and leading the project team to meet project objectives.
- Establish a project health and safety culture and lead with a health and safety mindset.
- Working collaboratively with our external supply chain and driving contractor performance.
- Support the definition of solutions to meet the project objectives and be responsible for preparing a clear business case.
- Effective liaison with the relevant town planning authorities and critical internal and external stakeholders to ensure smooth running and timely project delivery.
- Contribute to steering project-wide continuous improvement and delivering against stretching targets.
- Commercially manage all contract matters to achieve the optimal outcome for Thames Water.
- Take accountability for governance compliance throughout the project\’s lifecycle, leading to a smooth transition into operational business.
Role Location: These roles will be hybrid, in an office location with Thames Water regions; as part of the role, you will be required to be on site 2-3 days a week and as the business needs.
The standard hours are Monday – Friday, 36 hours a week. However, we are flexible on working hours and patterns, so please apply if you are looking for an alternative to this.
The ideal candidate will have access to transportation and hold a driver\’s licence, but please apply if you do not currently have this.
What you should bring to the role
- Demonstrable track record of delivering complex projects in the built environment, infrastructure or utility industry.
- An engineering or other relevant degree or qualification within a business or project management qualification.
- Knowledgeable in managing contract specification preparation, tendering, and tender evaluation processes with experience in negotiation.
- Demonstrate your capability with risk-based and analytical decision-making.
- Confidence in speaking to all levels of external and internal stakeholders.
