As a Senior Engineer, you won’t just be joining us during an exciting phase—you’ll be at the forefront of transforming and modernising our wastewater networks, from preventing sewer flooding and reducing spills into the river to upgrading a historic network that keeps London flowing.

What you’ll be doing as a Senior Civil Engineer:

  • Oversee the design development of several wastewater network projects by engineers and consultants from the initial concept design and feasibility stage to contract award.
  • Identify, analyse, mitigate project risks and realise opportunities to enable scope definition and robust pricing by contractors.
  • Ensure that the detailed design is undertaken by contractors and any design changes are made during construction.
  • Be responsible for providing the Project Teams with the support they need during the commissioning and handover of assets.
  • Undertake design reviews, ensuring robust and safe solutions whilst meeting business and operational requirements.
  • Act as the key contact for the CDM Designer or Principal Designer role during the initial design stages.
  • Input and continuously improve Technical Asset Standards.

Hybrid – Maple Lodge, we are very flexible on remote and hybrid working for this role, so please apply if you are looking for a more remote role than hybrid. The successful candidate must drive and have a car, but please do apply if you don’t, as we are open to those without.

What you should bring to the role:

  • Hold a Civil Engineering HNC or a degree or a master’s degree in a specific Engineering discipline.
  • Be a chartered engineer or approaching chartership status with a relevant professional organisation.
  • Have experience in the design & rehabilitation of wastewater network projects.
  • Understanding the principles of project delivery.
  • Understanding of Health & Safety in the Construction Industry.
  • Understanding the decision of industrial processes in their Engineering discipline.
