Start your Network Engineer career with Thames Water. Kick‑start your IT journey as a Digital Collaboration Engineer Apprentice. You’ll support frontline tech services—AV, booking systems, kiosks, vending, and print—ensuring smooth operations for the UK’s largest water and wastewater provider.
What you’ll do:
- Troubleshoot and fix hardware/software issues and perform root‑cause analysis
- Set up and configure AV, booking tools, kiosks, vending devices, and print services
- Support meeting rooms, booking systems, kiosks, and print workflows
- Use monitoring tools to spot issues early and keep documentation up to date
- Work with service leads, product teams, and vendors to resolve requests
- Contribute to service reviews and improvement initiatives
Where you will work:
- Location: Clearwater Court, Reading, RG1 8DB office based not hybrid
- Hours: 36 hours a week across four working days plus one off-the-job training day
Training and qualification:
- You’ll study with Firebrand Training Limited, one of the UK’s leading digital training providers. Your training includes a mix and blend of virtual learning and periodic residential block release at their dedicated training centre in Bedford. Accommodation will be provided.
- Qualification: Level 4 Network Engineer Standard - This aligns with British Computer Society, The Chartered Institute for IT for Register of IT Technicians level 4
- Duration: Permanent contract with a 27‑month structured programme
What you should bring to the role:
- Drive with own vehicle and business use car insurance will be needed
- GCSE Maths and English (grade 9-4 / A-C)
- Min 48 UCAS points or relevant digital level 3 qualification
- Knowledge of hardware and software issues
- Ability to manage time well and stay organised
