Location: Field-based - covering South East Thames Valley & Home Counties.

Hours: 38 hours/week. (Mon-Fri, 07:30-15:36)

Join us at Thames Water as a Network Metering Electrical Technician in a full-time, permanent role. You'll play a key part in maintaining and repairing district and zonal meters, as well as critical pressure points, ensuring the reliability of our water network reporting systems. This field-based role offers variety, independence, and the chance to make a real impact using your technical and diagnostic skills.

What you will be doing as a Network Metering Electrical Technician:

  • Carry out both proactive and reactive maintenance on our electrical network equipment, including meters, critical pressure points, Bulk Meters and logging.
  • Review the technical history of assets to plan and carry out a suitable maintenance strategy.
  • Always be aware of the impact of your technical decisions on work being carried out on the network, as well as how customers, internal and external, are affected.
  • Working with field teams and the control function to determine the cause of water supply issues.

To thrive in this role, the essential criteria you'll need are:

  • Relevant qualifications such as ONC/HNC, NVQ, BTEC, or City & Guilds Level 3 in Electrical/Electronic Engineering.
  • Hands-on experience with electrical instrumentation.
  • Familiarity with SCADA systems and the ability to learn bespoke software.
  • Strong communication skills, comfortable interacting with both colleagues and the public.
  • A proactive, self-motivated attitude with strong organisational skills.
  • A full and clean UK driving licence is essential.
