We currently have an opportunity for an experienced ICA technician across London and Thames Valley.

The successful candidate will work with multi-disciplinary teams, including operational teams such as systems, mechanical, and electrical technicians.

You will be responsible for installing, modifying, and commissioning new plant equipment to relevant standards, diagnosing and repairing faults, and proactively identifying and reporting works for enhancement to ensure cost-effective improvements.

This role offers a chance to make a significant environmental impact by helping reduce pollution from our sites.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure health, safety, and wellbeing of yourself and others by complying with regulations and guidelines.
  • Perform maintenance on wastewater assets, including planned and defect maintenance, and install, modify, and commission new equipment.
  • Record work and asset information to improve performance and identify potential risks, recommending changes as needed.
  • Provide technical advice, coaching, and training, including supporting apprenticeship programs.
  • Deliver excellent customer service, interacting professionally with internal and external customers.

Working Hours

38 hours per week, Monday-Friday, 7:30 am – 3:36 pm, plus standby rota payments and overtime opportunities that can increase earnings by up to £10,000 per year after training.

All PPE, tools, and a van are provided when on duty and on call.

Candidate Requirements

  • Qualified to HNC or NVQ Level 3 in instrumentation, control, and automation or equivalent.
  • Preferably, hold an 18th Edition (BS7671) qualification.
  • Practical understanding of operational plant and control systems.
  • Desirable: experience with Wonderware and ClearSCADA.
  • Experience with relay logic and PLCs (Rockwell & Allen Bradley), including management and programming.
  • Ability to read circuit diagrams and experience with inverter drives.
  • Experience in calibration and maintenance of instrumentation.
  • Problem-solving skills and the ability to implement solutions or escalate issues.
  • Excellent communication skills for technical advice and teamwork.
  • Resilience and adaptability in a dynamic environment.
  • Ability to work independently and adhere to standards.
  • Knowledge of Health and Safety issues relevant to the industry.
  • Full UK driving license.
