As a Class 1 HGV Driver, you will be an ambassador for Thames Water out on the road, where you will ensure that our values are upheld, and you will be driven to provide first-class customer service – you will truly be the face of Thames Water.
You will work as part of the Logistics Delivery team, which operates a fleet of Potable Water Tankers to support both reactive and planned work. You will be joining a team that carries out the essential delivery of water to our customers. Within this team, you will learn how to take water samples before loading and discharging them into hydrants or reservoirs.
This role consists of being able to follow processes and procedures. You will be expected to drive both HGV 1 and HGV 2 vehicles, which have manual and automatic gearboxes, plus various support vehicles such as Welfare vans.
- Working an average of 38/45 hours per week.
- This position is based at Newbury STW.
- Full training and an excellent wider benefits package.
- 38.5 hours per week – 4 on, 4 off – £42,435 per annum.
What should you bring to the role?
- Experience as a Class 1 HGV Driver.
- Happy working on a rotational shift pattern, including days and nights.
- No more than 6 penalty points and no DR or IN convictions on your licence.
- A full driver CPC and a valid Driver Tachograph card.
- Demonstrate a clear knowledge of Transport Law and the Road Traffic Act.
- Have a working knowledge of Drivers\’ Hours rules and Working Time regulations.
