We are looking for an Efficiency Lead to join Thames Water on a permanent basis. You will lead the identification, development, and delivery of efficiency initiatives across water networks and production within Asset Operations & Capital Delivery. Manage a small team of Efficiency Specialists, each delivering multiple projects, while also directly leading initiatives.

You can be based at any of the following locations; however, travelling will be required:

  • Brixton (WTW)
  • Clearwater Court - RG1 8DB
  • Darenth (WTW) - DA2 7SR
  • Deephams (STW) - N9 0BA
  • Farmoor (WTW)
  • Fobney (WTW) - RG2 0SF
  • Hampton (WTW) - TW12 2ES
  • Hiview House (Kentish Town)
  • Kemble Court - RG2 6AD
  • Walton-on-Thames (WTW)

What should you bring to the role as an Efficiency Lead:

  • Champion a strong Health & Safety culture and always ensure compliance.
  • Recruit, coach, and develop a high-performing, inclusive team.
  • Lead delivery of efficiency projects using agile ways of working.
  • Plan, prioritise, and manage capacity to maximise value and impact.
  • Develop and govern project plans, risks, and benefits through agreed processes.
  • Use data (e.g. SCADA, GIS, SAP, Salesforce) to identify opportunities and track KPIs.
  • Produce dashboards, reports, and clear insights for stakeholders.
  • Engage regularly with operational teams on site to drive efficiency ideas.
  • Manage stakeholders, escalate risks, and report progress through governance forums.
  • Ensure benefits are captured, signed off by Finance, and deliver commercial value.

To thrive in this role, the essential criteria you’ll need are:

  • Proactive mindset and ability to drive progress on projects.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement ability and can easily build relationships.
  • Track record of delivery within general operational management and an appreciation as well as an understanding of Water Operations.
  • Ability to problem-solve and interpret data.
  • Can work as part of a team through effective engagement and collaboration.
  • Competent with Office 365.
  • Due to the nature of the role, a Full UK Driving Licence is required.
