We are looking for a Shift Process Technician to join our team at Long Reach Sewage Treatment Works, Dartford on a permanent basis.
Responsibilities
- Complete daily process checks on the various treatment processes, receive chemical deliveries, and work with the maintenance team to ensure the effective and continuous operation of the site.
- Ensure priority of delivering excellent Final Effluent.
- Monitor, collate, and report data to ensure statutory and regulatory compliance is met, and the site meets regulatory quality standards and customer demand.
- Interpret and assess trends on SCADA, where necessary.
- Carry out daily routine tasks such as stock checks, site safety checks, H&S compliance, and inventory management.
- Optimise plant performance and availability.
- Manage and liaise with contractors to ensure compliance with Safe Systems of Work.
- Undertake isolations to ensure the plant is safely maintained and to safeguard the safety of any plant being worked on.
- Process faults and advise suitable rectification by first fix, raising issues to the Maintenance Scheduler or Manager as required.
- Assist with on-site capital project works, coordinate maintenance and operational personnel, and raise reactive work when required.
- Undertake safety and security checks and take responsibility for the health and safety of yourself and your colleagues.
- Undergo training in safety procedures, including confined space entry.
Qualifications and Skills
- Hands-on and practical with impeccable attention to detail and troubleshooting skills.
- Basic literacy and numeracy skills with effective communication.
- Ability to work unsupervised and be prepared to work both day and night shift on a 12-hour shift pattern (and where cover is required).
- Trained in safety procedures.
- Fully competent at using the appropriate Company IT systems and Office software.
- Self-motivated and able to immerse yourself in the team.
- Very disciplined, eager to learn from those around you, and possessing a can-do attitude.
- Take ownership of responding quickly to faults, being curious to fully understand the problem, and identifying the best solution to resolve.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with the team.
Additional Desired Experience
- Process and/or water treatment experience.
- Previous experience or knowledge of SCADA systems would be beneficial.
