As a Network Asset Maintenance Telemetry Field Operations Manager, you will lead and support a team of Metering Technicians covering the Thames Valley and our Home Counties geographical area. You will oversee network reactive and proactive maintenance and ensure instrumentation is accurate, calibrated and verified. Supporting Thames Water to meet their performance commitments and ODIs, while prioritising team wellbeing and performance. You will build strong relationships to deliver a high-quality, safe, and cost-effective service, ensuring KPIs and service level agreements are achieved. Working closely with stakeholders across leakage, system operations, delivery, regional networks, asset management, and engineering, you will help drive operational excellence. A strong communicator, you will foster an inclusive and engaged team culture through regular 1-2-1s, development support, and a flexible, proactive approach.

What you will be doing as a Field Operations Manager:

  • Lead and support a safe, high-performing team, ensuring the well-being of employees working across the water network.
  • Deliver excellent customer service by building trust, being easy to work with, and ensuring customers feel valued.
  • Manage the team’s budgets and financial performance, identifying opportunities to improve efficiency and deliver value for money.
  • Monitor KPIs, service levels, and performance targets, driving continuous improvement through clear action plans.
  • Ensure all work is delivered in line with quality standards, asset requirements and company processes.
  • Lead, coach, and develop an engaged and accountable team through regular 1-2-1s, clear objectives, and ongoing performance support.
  • Promote a positive, inclusive, and collaborative culture where achievements are recognised, ideas are encouraged, and everyone has an equal voice.

  • Excellent written, verbal, and presentation communication skills, including proficiency in MS Office applications.
  • Proven water network competency and completion of relevant operational network training.
  • Ability to monitor performance and produce accurate KPI and SLA reporting.
  • Strong leadership and people management capabilities.
