Overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Intelligence Analyst to join our Research and Analysis (R&A) team to support the South East Regional Organised Crime Unit (SEROCU). The purpose of the role is to provide high‑level analytical support to senior operational police officers, assisting in the prevention, targeting, disruption and detection of crime through the creation of intelligence products that inform strategic and tactical planning. The analyst will support managerial, operational and investigative decision‑making by mapping out the full intelligence picture clearly and concisely.

Responsibilities

  • Produce analytical reports using communications data records.
  • Use advanced IT skills, including Excel, to analyse data.
  • Apply research techniques and problem‑solving to assess threat, harm and risk.
  • Provide recommendations to drive business activity and disrupt crime.
  • Support fast‑time operational needs while working independently under pressure.
  • Demonstrate flexibility regarding working hours and occasional travel across the region and beyond.

Qualifications

  • Experience producing analytical reports using communications data records.
  • Advanced IT skills, particularly Excel.
  • Strong research and problem‑solving abilities.
  • Capacity to work at pace and under pressure.
  • Confidence to work independently.

Security Vetting

Due to the nature of the work, security is paramount. The role requires a current SC vetting level and additional enhanced security checks. Applicants must have resided in the UK for the past five years (exceptions may apply for overseas or diplomatic service).
