Role Summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Intelligence Analyst to join our Research and Analysis (R&A) team to support our South East Regional Organised Crime Unit (SEROCU) for a period of 18 months.

Purpose of the Role

The purpose of the role is to provide high‑level analytical support to senior operational police officers to assist in the prevention, targeting, disruption and detection of crime. As an analyst, you will use analytical techniques to create intelligence products that inform relevant strategic and tactical planning to the standard defined within the National Intelligence Model. You will provide an efficient and effective service to support managerial, operational and investigative decision‑making.

Key Responsibilities

  • Map out the full intelligence picture clearly and concisely so investigative teams can direct their time and resources effectively.
  • Make recommendations to drive business activity and assess threat, harm and risk.
  • Assist in the disruption of crime and safeguarding of the vulnerable.
  • Support managerial, operational and investigative decision‑making through high‑quality intelligence products.

Required Qualifications and Experience

  • Experience producing analytical reports using communications data records.
  • Advanced IT skills, including the use of Excel.
  • Proven research skills with the ability to problem‑solve.
  • Capacity to work at pace and under pressure to support fast‑time operational needs.
  • Confidence to work independently with the above skills.

Working Hours and Travel

Flexibility regarding working hours in line with operational demand is required and may occasionally entail working away from home. You must be willing and able to travel across the region and, on occasion, further afield.

Security Vetting

Security is of paramount importance. Pass and maintain vetting level SC, together with a number of enhanced security checks, is necessary. You must have resided in the UK for the past five years. Exemptions may apply for overseas or other diplomatic service.
