Are you an organised, proactive administrator with excellent people skills? Do you enjoy working in a fast-paced environment where no two days are the same? If so, we'd love to hear from you.

We're looking for a Regional HR Administrator to join our HR and Recruitment Team, providing essential HR and recruitment support across Counter Terrorism Policing South East. This is a rewarding opportunity to play a key role in attracting, onboarding and supporting the people who help keep our communities safe.

What You'll Be Doing

  • As the first point of contact for a wide range of HR and recruitment enquiries, you'll manage and support recruitment campaigns for police staff and police officer roles.
  • Create and publish job adverts, arrange interviews and communicate with candidates throughout the recruitment process.
  • Guide applicants and hiring managers through onboarding, vetting and pre-employment checks.
  • Provide professional HR administrative support across the employee lifecycle, including starters, movers, leavers, retirements and employee relations matters.
  • Maintain accurate HR records and systems, ensuring confidentiality and data integrity at all times.
  • Support recruitment events, projects and initiatives that help attract and retain talented people.
  • Build positive working relationships with colleagues, managers and applicants across the South East region.

This is a varied role where you'll manage multiple priorities, support large-scale recruitment activity, and contribute to continuous improvements within the HR and Recruitment Team.

What We're Looking For

  • Strong administrative experience with excellent attention to detail.
  • Proven organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the confidence to engage with people at all levels.
  • Experience using Microsoft Office applications, particularly Word, Excel and Outlook.
  • The ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion and professionalism.
  • A collaborative approach, whilst also being comfortable working independently.
  • A background in HR, recruitment or a related field would be advantageous, but is not essential.

Why Join Us?

This is an opportunity to develop your HR career within a unique and purposeful organisation. You'll gain valuable experience across the full employee lifecycle, work alongside experienced HR professionals, and contribute to recruitment and people initiatives that support critical policing operations.

You will be asked to demonstrate flexibility regarding working hours in line with operational demand and occasionally this may require working away from home. For this reason, a full UK Driving Licence is essential to the role.

Due to the nature of our work, security is of paramount importance to us and therefore it will be necessary to pass and maintain vetting level SC together with a number of enhanced security checks. In order to achieve this, you must be a British National and have resided in the UK for the past five years. Exemptions may apply for overseas or other diplomatic service (with HM Government), and studying abroad. Please be aware that if successful there are limitations on travelling to a small number of countries once in post.

The leadership within CTPSE and SEROCU are actively committed to embedding and sustaining an inclusive culture that recognises and champions the diversity of our people, and promotes equity and equality so that everyone can succeed at work.

The region is delivering this commitment through a long-term strategy that takes a holistic and intersectional approach to wellbeing & inclusion. Our strategy is underpinned by the five strategic objectives:

  • Inclusive Culture – We will create, embed, and continually develop an inclusive culture for our people.
  • Engaged & Involved – We will ensure our people are engaged, involved, and listened to.
  • Wellbeing – We will prioritise the wellbeing of our people.
  • Representation – We will attract, recruit, retain and develop a diverse workforce.
  • Inclusive by Design – We will ensure that inclusion is a core principle of our policies, products, and decisions.

We welcome applications from those interested in part-time and flexible working, and encourage applications from our underrepresented communities.

Our people say that benefits include a good work/life balance, a supportive and welcoming place to work and excellent terms including a generous pension scheme and annual leave entitlement.

IMPORTANT: If you are already a Thames Valley Police (TVP) member of staff and you have been in your post for less than twelve months, your application must be supported by your line manager. We will require written confirmation from your line manager in order to proceed.

Shift allowance, on-call or other job-related allowances from your previous role will not be protected unless they are attached to the new role.

We reserve the right to close this vacancy if we receive a high volume of applications. Should you wish to apply for this post, we advise you to complete and submit your application form as soon as possible.
