This is an exciting opportunity to join the Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner for Thames Valley Police as a Senior Assistant Accountant. The OPCC office provides support in a number of areas including strategic financial policy and planning, audit, performance monitoring and scrutiny, governance and compliance, service commissioning, grant funding and partnerships, communications and engagement, press and media, the delivery of the Victims First Service and general administrative duties. You will provide financial support in the provision of accurate, timely management information and accounting information. AAT level 3 qualified is required for this position. You will receive structured off‑the‑job development, supported by workplace learning and mentoring.
Responsibilities:
- Treasury Management and cash flows
- VAT advice
- Supporting month end and year end activities including postal journals
- Providing analysis and guidance to colleagues with the OPCC
- Dealing with queries via a shared inbox
