Job Summary
This role is an administrative position within the Postal Requisition Crime Team, supporting internal and external partners such as the Crown Prosecution Services and courts. Select contracts are available: secondment or fixed‑term until 31 March 2027 and 12 July 2027.
Responsibilities
- Prepare postal requisition documents and manage electronic case files and digital media.
- Serve as the first‑line contact for day‑to‑day queries, resolving issues with minimal escalation.
- Communicate with defendants verbally and in writing regarding biometric appointments, liaising with external forces and maintaining appointment diaries across all custody suites.
Qualifications & Skills
- Good standard of education and recent experience in an administrative role.
- Experience working with partner agencies.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Initiative, problem‑solving ability, attention to detail, and excellent time‑management and organisational skills.
Requirements
- Ability to travel to different locations on short notice; a full driving licence is essential.
- Capability to work flexible hours and may involve unsocial hours with lone‑working circumstances.
Employment Details
- Secondment requires written approval from line manager and head of department; if not supported the role may be offered on a fixed‑term contract.
- Shift allowance, on‑call, or other job‑related allowances from a previous role will not be protected unless attached to the new role for the full duration of the secondment.
