Band 2E, circa £27,449 per annum, plus 3.5% shift allowance, plus benefits

Part/Full Time: Full Time – All roles are available for flexible working including job sharing and part-time unless operational reasons prevent it

Responsibilities

  • Provide a high-quality administrative service to internal and external partners, including the Crown Prosecution Services (CPS) and the Courts
  • Prepare Postal Requisition documents and process electronic case files and digital media
  • Serve as the first line contact for day‑to‑day queries and problems, resolving issues with minimal referral to team leaders
  • Communicate with defendants verbally and in writing when progressing Biometric Appointments and liaise with external forces and business partners
  • Maintain appointment diaries across all custody suites

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Good standard of education
  • Recent experience in an administrative role with partner agency interaction
  • Proven written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to use initiative and problem‑solve within a team environment, with strong attention to detail
  • Excellent time management and organisational skills
  • Ability to travel to different locations and work flexibly; a full driving licence is considered essential

Additional Information

As a permanent member of staff applying for this role, please note it will be offered on a secondment basis. Secondments must be supported in writing by your Line Manager and Head of Department/Commander or Deputy. If not supported, the role may be offered on a fixed‑term contract basis, which may affect continuous service protections. Shift allowance, on‑call or other job‑related allowances from the previous role will not be protected unless they are attached to the new role for the duration of the secondment. All posts require a Police Vetting level as per the National Vetting Code of Practice. The residency requirement is applicable to all applicants to ensure equity in checks.
