Part/Full Time: Full Time - All roles are available for flexible working including job sharing and part-time unless there are legitimate operational / business reasons why this cannot be accommodated.

2x Fixed-Term Contract/Secondments: 2 years from start date based at either Kidlington or Loddon Valley. One role will require working alongside operational teams in Bicester and the other, Slough, Wycombe, Milton Keynes and Reading.

An opportunity exists for an enthusiastic and motivated Accredited Financial Investigator to work alongside local and force level criminal investigations, supporting them with financial investigation and targeting their assets through the use of both proactive and reactive POCA powers. This is an exciting opportunity to join TVP’s Asset Recovery Team.

The team supports Thames Valley Police by conducting Proceeds of Crime Act (PoCA) civil proceedings and confiscation investigations, pursuing criminals who have benefitted from their criminality and looking at ways to remove such benefit and recover the assets.

You will investigate Cash Seizures, Account Freezing, Listed Assets & Crypto Investigations and conduct confiscation Investigations. You will use the various PoCA powers available to conduct thorough investigations and prepare your investigations for court.

The role holder must be self-motivated, able to work with the minimum of supervision, and be well organised, sometimes working to tight deadlines (preparing case files and dealing with large volumes of material). You must be able to demonstrate high attention to detail, excellent investigation skills, with the ability to review and analyse financial material, and you should be able to present findings in a clear and joined up way.

Unless already fully accredited as a Financial Investigator (FIO, FI, CRiSP, Confiscator, Restraint, S.47), the post holder will be required to complete the relevant entrant's exam and training and thereafter submit the respective PDP to attain full accreditation with the NCA Proceeds of Crime Centre (PoCC).

Please note you will be required to travel for business purposes across the Thames Valley area and occasionally throughout the UK. Therefore, the successful candidate will require a full UK driving licence.

If you are a permanent member of staff applying for this role, please note it will be offered on a secondment basis. Important: All secondments must be supported in writing by your Line Manager and Head of Department/Commander or Deputy. Please attach written approval from your line manager and Head of Department in your application. If the secondment is not supported then the role may be offered on a fixed term contract basis, but this has implications including loss of continuous service protections.

Please note: Shift allowance, on-call or other job-related allowances from the previous role will not be protected unless they are attached to the new role for the duration of the secondment.
