About the Role CTPSE Intelligence Analysts provide high quality tactical and strategic analysis to inform, advise and assist decision makers and senior operational police officers in the prevention, targeting, disruption and detection of crime. In this role you will use analytical techniques to inform strategic and tactical planning to the standard defined within the National Intelligence Model (NIM) and Authorised Professional Practice (APP). You will provide an efficient and effective service to support managerial, operational and investigative decision‑making. Your analysis will assist in prioritisation; focusing intelligence gathering and guiding investigative, enforcement and prevention activities.

Through the application of structured analytical techniques (SATs) and the use of analytical vocabulary you will provide assessments of activities of individuals, groups and themes to establish the dimensions of the threat posed. This will include making recommendations to drive business activity at both a tactical and strategic level.

About You You will have substantive current role‑related experience as an Analyst in a police environment/partnership agency, with excellent understanding of the National Intelligence Model (NIM). You will have a relevant professional qualification and completion of the National Intelligence Analyst training or equivalent training. The successful applicant will have excellent communication, interpersonal, problem‑solving and time‑management skills and be effective in the use of IT. You will be expected to demonstrate flexibility regarding working hours in line with operational demand and occasionally work away from home. A full UK Driving Licence is essential for the role. Following training and once established within the role, there is potential to be part of an on‑call cadre on a voluntary basis.

Due to the nature of our work, security is paramount. It will be necessary to pass and maintain vetting at the DV level together with a number of enhanced security checks. To achieve this you must be a British National and have resided in the UK for the past ten years. Exemptions may apply for overseas or other diplomatic service (with HM Government), and studying abroad. Please be aware that if successful there are limitations on travelling to a small number of countries once in post.
