We welcome applications from substantive Inspectors for an exciting opportunity to join Counter Terrorism Policing South East (CTPSE) as Deputy Head of Protect and Prepare. The overall purpose of the role is to support the Head of Protect and Prepare in the delivery of continual development, implementation and co-ordination of the Counter Terrorism Protect and Prepare CT Strategy for the South East region. In addition to this, the successful applicant will also work as part of the CTPSE management team, to create an environment that enables all our staff to work together to keep people safe.

You will have proven ability to lead the policing response to a major event or incident, and experience and proven ability working in partnership with other agencies is essential. You must be a skilled communicator/negotiator and be able to present information coherently to a variety of audiences.

Please note that this role is part of a national, regional and local network and as a result you may be required to travel for business purposes mainly across the South East region and occasionally throughout the UK. Therefore, the successful candidate will require a full UK driving licence.

Due to the nature of our work, security is of paramount importance to us and therefore it will be necessary for the successful candidate to obtain and maintain vetting level DV together with a number of enhanced security checks. In order to achieve this, you must be a British National and have resided in the UK for the past ten years. Exemptions may apply for overseas or other diplomatic service (with HM Government), and studying abroad. Please be aware that if successful there are limitations on travelling to a small number of countries once in post.
