Thames Valley Police are looking for an enthusiastic and capable Police Contact Enquiry Officer to serve as the first point of contact for all members of the public visiting the police station.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the first point of contact for public visitors to the police station.
- Deal with victims and offenders, managing expectations and providing support and reassurance to vulnerable people.
- Calm emotional, angry or aggressive visitors and reason with them.
- Check and record details in police IT systems.
- Provide high quality customer service to internal customers in accordance with legislation, policy and procedures.
- Handle general administration, including receipt and return of property.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Assertive with the ability to remain calm and think logically in challenging situations.
- Sensitive and understanding towards the needs of emotional victims, with appreciation of confidentiality and diversity.
- Strong problem solving and decision-making skills.
- Ability to work as part of a team and independently.
- Capability to undertake physical Personal Safety Training.
Eligibility: If currently a Thames Valley Police employee, must have been in your present post for at least 12 months.
