Are you looking for an exciting new role where you can make a difference to the service Thames Valley Police gives to victims?
The Assessment and Investigation Unit (AIU) is transforming how we prioritise and investigate volume crime and, in so doing, significantly improve our contact and service with victims.
The AIU is looking for a highly motivated individual to join the leadership team in Berkshire managing teams of officers and staff to embed this transformation and take it forward.
Reporting to the AIU DCI for Berkshire, you will be responsible for leading AIU teams through the end to end delivery and performance of the triage and investigation process for volume crime by making best use of our resources and technology; working with the teams to ensure that investigations are prioritised based on threat, harm, opportunity, risk and victim impact.
The Successful Candidate Will Have
- Relevant significant supervisory/management experience in service management and/or investigations knowledge;
- Considerable experience of developing a team and delivering high standards of service;
- Strong decision making and problem solving skills;
- Proven ability to innovate and make best use of technology; and
- Meticulous attention to detail;
The location for this post could be Reading or Slough.
The successful candidate will be expected to provide resilience and support across the AIU County Hub in all aspects of the AIU’s work. In addition, the role holder will have line management responsibility for a unique work force mix of police officers, student officers, and police staff, supporting their welfare, performance and development.
There is an expectation that the role holder will lead by example to promote a balance of productivity, wellbeing and team cohesion.
