What we are looking for:
We are looking for a passionate and driven PR Assistant to join our growing Engagement team and work closely with our Head of Communications. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who wants to make a real impact by helping to shape and deliver compelling communications that champion our lifesaving work.
Your role:
You will work closely with the wider Communications team, providing high-quality copywriting support and acting as the first point of contact for internal communications stories. You will produce press releases, patient stories, and a broad range of written content that engages, informs, and inspires our diverse audiences. Your work will play a vital part in strengthening our profile, building trust, and encouraging the community support that keeps our lifesaving service flying.
You will be responsible for:
- Helping raise the profile of Thames Valley Air Ambulance by identifying PR opportunities, supporting media research and interviews, drafting and distributing press releases, and monitoring coverage through regular media summaries and performance reports.
- Building relationships with former patients as they share their stories while managing consent records and tracking story use.
- Leading on internal communications by gathering stories from colleagues, editing and circulating regular updates, and continually improving our approach through monitoring and feedback.
About you:
You will bring strong organisational skills and a genuine passion for impactful communication. We are looking for someone who:
- Has strong copywriting skills and can turn complex briefs into clear, engaging content.
- Has one year’s experience in PR, Communications, or media role.
- Brings creative flair across written, digital, and social content.
- Is highly organised and able to manage competing priorities and deadlines.
