Thames Reach runs projects and services that help to end homelessness in and around London. We work directly with homeless people on the streets and in hostels. We work to prevent vulnerable people from becoming homeless. We help formerly homeless people get their lives back on track. We help people find work and access training and volunteering opportunities.

About this role…

We are looking for a Support Worker to join the Greenhouse team.

We will not accept applications where Artificial Intelligence (AI) has been used to assist with completing the competency questions.

The Greenhouse in Hackney delivers housing and healthcare services to homeless people in the borough. Thames Reach staff, working in partnership with Hackney council, provide housing advice and support to people with complex needs.

You will:

  • Work on a rota to carry out assessments with adults experiencing homelessness
  • Manage a caseload of people and deliver support to either prevent homelessness or find suitable accommodation
  • Provide support to a caseload of clients with complex needs
  • Work in partnership with Hackney Council and other relevant partners to provide holistic support to service users
  • Contribute to the smooth running of the drop in service
  • Record all case work on our database

You will have:

  • Experience of managing a caseload of clients
  • Able to work in an empathetic way whilst being reflective, flexible and responsive in meeting the needs of Greenhouse clients
  • Able to advocate with various stakeholders and joint work with partner agencies
  • Experience of managing your time effectively and able to respond to the projects priorities
  • Promote and positively represent Thames Reach in meetings and with external agencies
  • Experienced in mitigating risk either by Safeguarding or joint working with relevant partner agencies
