Role: Support Worker (Employment Specialist) Individual Placement Support team

Salary: £32,434 per annum

Location: Stockwell – London

Contract: Fixed term until July 2026

We work to prevent vulnerable people from becoming homeless. We help formerly homeless people get their lives back on track. We help people find work and access training and volunteering opportunities.

About this role…

We are looking for a Support Worker to join the Individual Placement Support team.

We will not accept applications where Artificial Intelligence (AI) has been used to assist with completing the competency questions.

Prevention services support vulnerable people by providing them with skills, housing advice, accommodation, and tenancy sustainment support. All these services to help people transition towards leading independent lives.

You will:

  • Provide intensive support to client to move towards suitable and sustainable employment.
  • Complete comprehensive assessment and support clients to identify skills and experiences and create action plan.
  • Work with people across the Alliance partnership to ensure outcomes are achieved
  • Play a vital role in supporting both client and employers’ post-employment to ensure long-term job retention and success.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders including employers.
  • Ensure accurate and consistent data collection, maintaining up-to-date case management.

You will have:

  • Proven experience in providing tailored employment support to vulnerable individuals.
  • Confident in communicating and building strong relationships with a variety of stakeholders.
  • Skilled in using a personalised and strength-based approach to support individuals.
  • Dedicated to working with both employers and employees to sustain job placements.
  • Ability to empower and motivate individuals, fostering confidence, resilience, and self-efficacy.
  • Highly organised with strong time-management skills, working independently capable of maintaining clear, accurate, and up-to-date records for all clients.
  • Competent in using IT tools and handling administrative tasks efficiently.
