About this role… We are looking for a Lead Worker to join the Lambeth Assessment Centre Team. Assessment Centres are fast paced services where people are referred in, usually from the street, and rapidly referred on to appropriate longer term accommodation. The services are short stay, and staff provide wrap around support and liaison with several external partners, including physical health, mental health, substance use and housing. Staffed 24 hours to ensure this quick turnaround, they are a key service to ensure people are off the streets and in stable accommodation.

You will:

  • Ensure all Housing Benefit claims are made and monitored for residents at Lambeth Assessment Centre
  • Log and manage all maintenance and repairs for the building
  • Contribute towards a fast turnover for void rooms in the service
  • Work with the management team in ensuring that the service and building is Health and Safety compliant
  • Work with the management team in ensuring that the service and building is fire compliant
  • Develop strong relationships with external contractors

You will:

  • Have excellent time management and organisational skills
  • Be outcome focused
  • Be a clear and concise communicator
  • Have an understanding of housing management including housing benefit and compliance
  • Have administrative and IT skills, experience of creating and managing databases
