Thames Marine Services Engineering Ltd is a well established and growing marine engineering company operating on the River Thames in London. We are looking for an experienced Marine Engineer to join our team and support ongoing operations across a varied commercial and leisure fleet.

The Role

You will work closely with the Director and wider team to deliver high quality engineering services, ensuring all projects are completed efficiently and to a high standard, with a strong focus on customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out engine and drivetrain diagnostics, repairs, and rebuilds
  • Maintain and troubleshoot AC and DC electrical systems
  • Work with and understand PLC systems
  • Conduct vessel inspections and prepare technical reports
  • Source parts, obtain quotations, and manage job related procurement
  • Plan and manage your own workload across multiple jobs
  • Travel to vessels across the Thames and occasionally further afield
  • Provide occasional out of hours support as part of a call out service

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years hands on marine engineering experience
  • Strong practical knowledge of marine engines, systems, and fault finding
  • Confident working independently and taking ownership of jobs
  • Organised with good communication and basic administrative skills
  • Professional and customer facing with a reliable and proactive attitude
  • Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle
  • Must be based locally to South London and eligible to work in the UK

Desirable

  • Experience within commercial or leisure marine environments
  • Previous sea time

Package

  • Salary: £37,000 to £45,000 depending on experience
  • 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays
  • Travel expenses covered
