This is an exciting opportunity to join an experienced and passionate clinical team, who are dedicated in delivering excellent palliative care to patients in the community. As an individual, you will need to possess excellent communication skills, have extensive knowledge in palliative care, champion a culture of compassion and be able to work under pressure.
In this role, you will be supporting patients who have a terminal diagnosis and need support with the challenges they face, so they can remain in their home. The role does require a positive can-do attitude, where hurdles are not seen as barriers but as challenges to overcome. You will need an ability to work as a team, as well as autonomously, and be prepared to travel to patients’ homes for visits.
As a prescriber, you will need to feel confident with making prescribing decisions which align to palliative guidelines, while also demonstrating excellent ability to rationalise choices made. In addition, as a senior part of the team, you will need to offer education, support and leadership to your colleagues who are developing in their roles.
The role also does entail a need to be flexible to the demand of the day and to contribute to team clinical meetings, where additional perspectives are welcomed.
