We are seeking a Counsellor to join our Counselling and Support Services Team. In this role, you will provide specialist counselling to patients and families. You will support individuals in adjusting to changes in their health, promote emotional wellbeing, quality of life, and resilience. You will also provide bereavement counselling, helping clients process their grief and adapt to life after the loss of a loved one.
About You
- A counselling qualification at degree or diploma level
- Experience of working with people with life-limiting illness, including pre-bereavement support for patients and their loved ones
- Experience of supporting individuals experiencing bereavement
- Experience of working with groups and/or families
- Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office and databases
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to adapt your style to different audiences
- The ability to build respectful, supportive and effective working relationships with colleagues and managers
- Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to quickly build rapport and establish professional relationships based on trust and understanding
Appointment to this role is subject to an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check for work with adults and children.
