Technical Operations Manager

This post is full time, 8am to 4.30pm Monday to Friday.
28 days a year annual leave, including Christmas and Bank Holidays.
This is a 3 month contract with the possibility of leading to a permanent role for the right candidate.
Overview:
We are a well established small manufacturing business with a stable revenue and a loyal customer base. We’re at an exciting stage where we see clear opportunities to grow rapidly and want someone who can help us make that happen.
We are looking for a senior technical operations manager to head up the team. A dynamic, hands on leader who can deliver real impact and work directly with the directors to modernize the business and help take it to the next level.
This is a management role that would suit an ambitious experienced technician from an engineering or manufacturing background who welcomes the challenge of shaping and growing a small business.
NECESSARY QUALITIES
This Technical Operations Manager role is ideal for someone who:

ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES
* Oversee and manage day to day business operations.
* Supervise and motivate staff to achieve business goals.
* Build and maintain strong relationships with customer and suppliers.
* Take an active role in negotiating and securing new contracts.
* Manage existing contracts and ensure high standards of delivery.
* Lead the planning and organisation of the workshop and its operations.
* Identify opportunities to improve efficiency and implement modern systems and processes.
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
* Strong technical competence from an engineering, manufacturing or related field.
* Proven experience in a supervisory or leadership role.
* Commercial acumen with the ability to add value to an established business.
* Excellent communication and presentation skills
* Strong IT skills and in interest in leveraging technology for operational efficiency.
* Strategic thinker with the ability to plan for growth while managing day to day detail.
* Highly self motivated with the ability to work independently and take initiative
* Strong organisational skills and ability to perform under pressure and to deadlines.
* Full clean drivers licence.
