Due to impending retirement, an exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Livestock Auctioneer to join our successful team in Thame, Oxfordshire. This is a key moment for the 75-year-old market as it follows planning for relocation to a new eleven-acre greenfield site. The market currently conducts successful weekly sales of Store Cattle and Prime Sheep and occasional Farm and Collective sales. Together with the renowned two-day Thame Summer Sheep Fair, this is an excellent opportunity for an experienced and enthusiastic individual to play a leading role in the continued growth and development of the business.

The Role

  • Conduct weekly livestock auctions to a high professional standard
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with vendors and purchasers
  • Support the design and project management teams for the move to our brand-new facility on the outskirts of Thame
  • Support the day-to-day running of market operations
  • Lead the continued expansion and promotion of the market

Applicants Should Have

  • Proven rostrum experience
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong knowledge of the livestock industry
  • Enthusiasm, professionalism, and commercial awareness
  • A full UK driving licence
