Thalia Waste Management is seeking a capable and safety-focused Tipping Hall Operative to support day-to-day operations within our Mechanical Treatment facility. This is a temporary role, sourced via Hays, with immediate start available.
- Working hours: 4 on 4 off both days only (7am – 7pm)
- £15.90 per hour
- 3 month temporary contract with the potential to turn permanent
Key responsibilities:
- Operate mobile plant including loading shovel, 360 excavator, Telehandler and mobile shredder
- Carry out waste inspections and report non-conforming materials
- Load vehicles with IBA and manage the IBA bunker
- Maintain high standards of housekeeping and safe systems of work in the tipping and IBA halls
- Ensure compliance with health, safety and environmental procedures at all times
Requirements:
- Valid and in-date tickets for:
- Loading shovel
- Telehandler
- 360 Excavator
- Experience working in a waste, construction or industrial environment
- Ability to follow clear instructions and work safely as part of a team
- Reliability and a practical, hands-on approach
About the site:
You’ll be based at one of Thalia’s Mechanical Treatment facilities, operating as part of a wider team focused on delivering safe and efficient waste handling. Full site induction and HSEQ briefings will be provided.

This is an agency-based temporary assignment through Hays. All pay and contractual terms will be managed by them
