We are seeking a dedicated Loading Shovel Driver to join our team at Allerton Waste Recovery Park. The primary role will be to move waste around our tipping hall site, transporting unprocessed household waste. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for operating mobile plant machinery such as front-loading shovels.
Minimum Requirements:
- Must have a full and valid driving license
- Must have a Loading Shovel ticket
This is a temporary role with the opportunity to go permanent. You will be paid weekly by our temporary agency partner - Hays Recruitment - £15.55 per hour. Weekly shift pattern of 6am-2pm / 2pm – 10pm (Monday – Friday). Opportunity for Saturday overtime – time and a half.
Main Responsibilities:
- Reporting any health and safety hazards or incidents to the Shift Supervisor / Lead Supervisor
- Operating mobile plant
- Vehicle marshalling / controlling the tipping hall operation
- Maintaining clean working conditions in the fuel reception area, tipping hall, and delivery routes
- Ensuring the constant availability of waste to be processed
- Carrying out waste inspections and reporting non-conforming waste
- Loading collection vehicles and static plant
Skills and Experience:
- A strong teamwork ethic
- A flexible approach to working
- An ability to work in a changing, fast-paced environment
- Experience in an industry such as waste management, quarrying, cement works, construction, or steel would be advantageous
