As an SHEQ Coordinator, you will play a key role in supporting a strong culture of health, safety, environment and quality across Thalia Waste Management. Working under the guidance of the Principal HSEQ Adviser, you will provide administrative and coordination support that enables the wider HSEQ team to deliver continuous improvement and ensure compliance with our integrated management system. You will work collaboratively across contracts and functions to ensure our systems are maintained, data is accurate, and operational colleagues are supported in embedding safe, sustainable, and compliant ways of working.
Responsibilities
- Maintain and update HSEQ systems, including EcoOnline, WorkRite, Sypol and internal SharePoint resources.
- Collate, analyse and present HSEQ data, supporting the production of performance reports and dashboards (KPIs).
- Provide coordination and administration support for HSEQ activities across sites, including audits, briefings, training, and toolbox talks.
- Support the drafting, formatting and maintenance of HSEQ documentation such as procedures, presentations and safety alerts using technical input from subject matter experts.
- Assist in the preparation for and follow‑up from internal and external audits and inspections.
- Support the ongoing development and application of the Integrated Management System (IMS).
- Promote Thalia’s safety culture and values through daily interactions, encouraging safe behaviours and pride in our HSEQ performance.
- Carry out other related duties that align with the scope and purpose of the role.
Qualifications
- NEBOSH General Certificate or working towards (or equivalent L3 H&S qualification).
- IEMA or Quality‑related qualification desirable but not essential.
Skills
- Competent user of Microsoft Office (especially Excel and Word); basic PowerPoint and SharePoint knowledge an advantage.
- High level of attention to detail and data accuracy.
- Confident in formatting documents and creating visually engaging presentations and reports.
- Ability to plan and prioritise workload to meet deadlines.
Experience
- Some prior experience in an administrative or coordination role within a HSEQ, compliance, or similar regulated environment.
- Experience using digital HSEQ platforms (e.g., EcoOnline, Sypol, WorkRite) is desirable.
