Job OverviewAs a Training Specialist you will work within the Through life Support Engineer (TSE) team, undertaking training analysis, design, delivery and evaluation to customer requirements within defence and commercial environments. You will lead and direct the wider Technical Publications and Training team, providing business‐driven design and management of training solutions. You will manage challenging deadlines and team priorities across work streams.
Key Responsibilities and Tasks
Undertake and take ownership of day‐to‐day training activities ensuring delivery on time, to budget and quality.
Support, share and contribute to the exercising of best practice within the team. Through the merit of your own actions and performance, consistently demonstrate the value of Learning and Development to our customers.
Work with customers and end users to highlight front line training issues that affect system availability and capability.
Recommend changes to training affected processes and procedures and follow through with required updates.
Provide TNA decision outputs within own sphere of responsibility and delegated authority to both internal and external customers on behalf of Thales.
Analyse trending training data to manage training design changes required to improve learning outcomes for the end users.
Analyse, design and deliver training to UK MOD JSP822 / S6000T standards to ensure the company training outputs remain compliant.
Compile data to a variety of national / international / civil / military specifications, and produce physical/electronic deliverables.
Provide help and direction to less experienced team members.
Take responsibility for contributing to team planning, risk management, quality and HSE.
Set targets for and manage own development with line manager.
Seek and share good practice and knowledge to continuously improve own practices.
Skills and Experience
Training Analysis, Design, Development, Delivery and Evaluation
Strong proficiency within standard Microsoft office packages/authoring tools
Excellent standard of written and spoken English
Writing of bids, proposals and work package costings
Stakeholder Management
Engineering knowledge/experience
Ability to influence and negotiate at all levels of the organisation
Proven track record in consulting across a range of technical disciplines
Organisation and problem solving skills
Able to build credibility quickly and effectively
Training systems and architecture within an engineering product lifecycle
Utilisation and tailoring of systemised approaches to training (JSP822, S6000T, ADDIE)

Education Requirements
Degree
BTEC/C&G in Learning and Development
Minimum: Preparing to Teach in The Life Long Learning Sector (PTTLS) or equivalent
