The primary objective is to ensure the secure and efficient delivery of enterprise infrastructure and application hosting environment. This includes maintaining high availability and performance while driving continuous service improvements through automation and integration. The role focuses on delivering an excellent customer experience while maintaining security and compliance standards.

Main Duties:
  • Design, implement and maintain virtualised infrastructure components including VMware vSphere, vCenter, and associated technologies.
  • Manage Windows/Linux server operating system deployment, updates, and security patches through SCCM, Red Hat Satellite, and related tools.
  • Monitor and remediate security vulnerabilities through timely patch implementation and security best practices.
  • Perform capacity planning and resource optimisation based on usage patterns and growth trends.
  • Configure and maintain management platforms to ensure optimal end-user experience.
  • Develop and maintain task sequences/scripts for automated OS deployment and configuration.
  • Monitor and optimise environment for maximum performance, investigating and resolving end-user experience issues.
  • Plan and execute infrastructure component upgrades, including hypervisors, management tools, and desktop operating systems.
  • Develop automation scripts and workflows to streamline operations and reduce manual intervention.
  • Collaborate with security teams to implement and maintain security controls and compliance requirements.
  • Work with service management to understand customer needs and improve service delivery.
Typical Routines:
  • Managing vSphere/vCenter infrastructure health and performance.
  • Reviewing and implementing security patches and updates.
  • Monitoring security advisories and planning vulnerability remediation.
  • Analysing capacity trends and usage patterns.
  • Utilising tools such as SCCM and Satellite for device management.
  • Monitoring and troubleshooting virtual infrastructure performance.
  • Implementing scheduled maintenance and updates across the virtual infrastructure.
  • Planning and executing component upgrades.
  • Creating and maintaining technical documentation and how-to guides.
  • Participating in service review meetings and customer engagement sessions.
  • Participating in agile ceremonies and sprint planning.
Qualifications:
  • VMware Certified Professional (VCP)
  • Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA)
  • HashiCorp Certified: Terraform Associate
  • CompTIA Security+
Skills:
  • Strong experience with VMware vSphere and vCenter administration (minimum 3 years).
  • Proven expertise in Server operating systems covering deployment and management of Windows and RHEL.
  • Experience with Microsoft SCCM / Redhat Satellite.
  • Strong understanding of security patching and vulnerability management.
  • Experience in capacity planning and resource optimisation.
  • Experience in troubleshooting virtual desktop performance issues and optimising end-user experience.
  • Strong background in infrastructure component upgrade planning and execution.
  • Understanding of IT service management principles and customer service orientation.
